Eye Candy

The snow has lost all of its fun. Right now it is slushy. (Soon to be frozen tonight) We went sledding a little bit, but my dad said the sledding would be good tomorrow morning! I just found out that it was actually almost 8 inches. Not 6. WOW!! Yesterday, I stayed inside and cleaned out our basement. Mopping, vacuuming, de cluttering, organizing ETC. Hopefully we can paint it this summer. When we moved in, there were some wacky colors! I really want the snow to melt so that I can leave my house, but at the same time, I want it to stay so that I dont have to go to school Wednesday.

My sister told me about these tote bags, and I saw them at lands end as well. SO AMAZING!! I would love one with my monogram. Click HERE
OHH!!! I also love this belted dress! Sorry- It will not let me take the pictures off of the site!

SNOW DAY!

ITS A SNOW DAY!! YAY!!! I haven't really been outside much because it is freezing, but I did manage to take a few pictures! The snow is probably about 6 or 6 1/2 inches .

I was wearing my rain boots, and the snow almost covered them. It is 2o degrees and there are icicles everywhere!
Are you having a snow day?

Glasses

I am very happy! I went to the eye doctor and they looked at my eyes. I did several eye tests, had drops put into my eye ETC. (No, I am not happy about that!) My eye sight isn't the best, its 20/70 on both eyes. I am going to have to get glasses, but luckily I only will need to wear them when I drive, at church, or during school. So hopefully, (after this snowstorm) I will be able to go pick out some glasses! I am not at all sad that I need them, but I am happy that I have the option of when to wear them. THANK YOU LORD!

Yep, as I mentioned briefly above, we are having a snow storm tonight. It is going to get too about 8 degrees tonight! BRRRR! We are expecting around 8 to 10 inches! That is a TON where I live. We got 5 inches earlier this year and it was incredible. I used to get excited when we got 2 inches, but 8! OH gracious. I can see a lot of hot cocoa and movies in my future! ;) I am slightly sick of cold weather, but hopefully it will be still be nice. Maybe I will even be able to skip school!! ;)

TGIF!

Today I am going to get my eyes checked. When I took drivers-ed, they checked my eyes and they said my left eye was weaker than my right. I can see close up fine, but when I am driving, I have trouble seeing signs that are far away. Hopefully I will only have to wear glasses while I drive. Its funny, my sister, Abby, had to get glasses, and until she got them, she thought that the world was always foggy, and blurry. ;)

We watched Emma last night! IT was really good. (And Mr. Knightly isn't bad!) Gwyneth Paltrow did a great job. Although she made me cringe with some of her "matchmaking" skills.

So what do you think of my new blog makeover? I was just browsing around and I saw this one and fell in love with it! Its really cute and preppy. I wish I could get my monogram in the header, but I am not really sure how to change the HTML code or whatever. If you know how, I would love some tips!

Have a wonderful Friday!

Thursday night randoms

Hello everyone, I really need to get better about posting, sorry for the break.
I hope you all had a great MLKD!!!

Today I spent basically just doing school. I also went to Borders and looked at...

I love Ina Garten, she is an incredible cook, and all of her food sounds great! Plus the presentation is just gorgeous!!

YUMMM!! ANd don't these cupcakes look incredible!?!?!?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My mom watched this movie and now is really starting to buy homegrown, organic food.

A small organic food market opened not far from our house sometime this year. Organic farmers sell their own food there. My mom just recently started buying there- Let me tell you, their chocolate milk, milk, and peppermint ice cream are soooooo good!!

My mom also bought some home grown spinach- It was beautiful!! It was the darkest color, and the biggest leaves, and you could DEFINITELY taste a difference from that and regular bagged spinach.

Have a great weekend! (almost!)

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. DAY!

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. DAY!! I Hope everyone is having a fantastic day!

Here are some of my favorite quotes from his "I Have a Dream," speech. There were so many wondeful parts.

"...One day right there in Alabama little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers."

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

Thank you Lord, for Martin Luther King, and all of the other people who fought to put an end to segregation!

Dear Watson

My Gran-Gran just got the sweetest rescue dog, named Watson, on Friday. He is a dashchund mix, and has the sweetest eyes and face ever!! He was found wandering around in a Harris Teeter parking lot. Sadly he is really afraid of men and boys, so we are guessing he was abused. Anytime my cousins (boys) get close to him, he would start shaking uncontrollably.

He is the PERFECT dog for my grandma and I am so happy she could get him. I think they both need each other. Him because he has had a sad life, and needs to be loved, and her because I think she is lonely, and needs a house dog.

He is supposed to stay at this size, as far as we know, and it is perfect for a lap doggy!! As you can tell by these pictures- they are attached!

We took my grandma and Watson to lunch today. We were going to go to an Amish Store for lunch, but they were still closed for the holidays, so instead we went to an Italian restaurant, (and had to leave dear Watson in the car) which was good. Then we went to a park to make up for the time he had had to be in the car. (Poor little guy!)
He must have had a really sad life because he hardly ever wags his tail, he never barks, and he shakes around men. It just breaks my heart. Today was the first day he ever wagged his tail. We were thrilled!!

Even though he has had a rough life he still acts a little like a puppy! He is a lot more sedate, but this morning he grabbed an unknown object and ran under the bed to chew it! HA!

Books, and driving

Edit:
******I PASSED!!!******

Today was my VERY first day of In car! I was nervous when I first started, but I got a lot less scared after I had been driving awhile. I did it from 10:30-1:30. 3 hours a day for two days. So tomorrow will be my last day! YAY!! Then I can get my permit.

I was very glad that I had had some driving experience with my Dad. He took me to a parking lot not far away from our house, and let me drive around, and work on parallel parking, U-Turns, signals, backing up & parking. My teacher is really nice, and put me at ease.

On my previous post about Ebay, I mentioned getting an Essentially Lilly book, and an Ina Garten cookbook. Well I also ordered and received the Kate Spade Occasions, Style, and Manners books. All of them in a set for $20. (and shipping) If I had bought each one by its self and not from Ebay it would have been about $60 and tax. I saved about $40!! Yay!

[manners.jpg]

They are such cute books, loaded with good advice, and I would advise looking into them! They also have great sketches.

I get so excited when I buy books. They are so much fun to buy and look at. My collection is really colorful!

My headbands also came in the mail. I. Love. Them. I would definitely go and buy some from Ebay if I was you. They would make a great gift! They are homemade, but look store bought, and they are made with Lilly fabrics!! I think the ladies username is Marinas Closet. happy Shopping!

Ebay

I know I have been talking about Ebay a lot, so I thought I would share with you some things I have won!!

Some ADORABLE preppy Lilly Pulitzer headbands

Essentially Lilly, a Guide to colorful entertaining

A cute Lilly Pulitzer cloth bag in a pink and white butterfly print. I am going to use it in my suitcase, for dividing up different things.

Ina Garten Barefoot Contessa Family Style, cookbook

I am very excited about all of my finds!! My sister found some brand new navajo Jack Rogers, for a good price, and Kate Spades Style book. My other sister found some Ralph Lauren Rocks Perfume, and a cute Lilly mug. Ebay can be so helpful! Not having to go out of your house, and having your package shipped right to you!! Here are some helpful hints for shopping on Ebay.

1. Always check the users ratings. I only buy things from users to have a 100% rating, and several hundred reviews.

2. Check the size (ounces (make up), width, length Etc.) of the item you are thinking about buying. Sometimes things look a lot bigger in the pictures than they actually are in real life.

3. Always pay for the item right after you buy it. It is irritating for the owner, if you keep them waiting.

4. Shop around a little bit more to find the best deal. Ebay has gone up in price, I was looking for an Ina Garten cookbook, and found one for 2o-some dollars, and then found one for only $9!

5. Check the shipping price

6. Be sure to give the owner a rating, and helpful feed back after you have received your item.

I hope that that was helpful!!

xoxo

My first post of 2010!!

Can you believe it? it feels so weird actually saying 2010.

Well to bring in the New Year, my family and I went to a BBQ dinner. My church started a home for women who are trying to stop addictions. They have a Bible Study, meals, and a place to stay. There were several of the women who got up and spoke. Out of the 160 people they have housed, 130 have given their life to Christ. Incredible.

When we were finished with that, we went home drank some blood orange italian soda, (very good!) munched on cookies and other snacks, then jumped into the New Year. We took a video of our family and several of our friends all holding hands, and jumping, when the clock struck 12. (PM) We had a blast! Abby's friend, Miriam spent the night.

Yesterday I went with my friends on a long shopping trip. We visited the Apple store, J. Crew, REI, Several kitchen stores, Old Navy, and Game stop. It was really fun. On the way there I got a chocolate cupcake, and a cinnamon dolce latte. OH so good!!! Mariah came over for a sleep over and we had a really good time.

Early that day my family and I went to Target, Stein Mart, Rack Room, and the library. I got a pair of pearl earrings, some awesome lip gloss, and a cute silver headband.

My package I won from The Engineer in High Heels and Pearls, arrived yesterday!! I was so excited!! I got a movie, an amazing pashmina cream colored scarf, Colossal Lash Mascara (Which I had always wanted to try.) and a pair of cozy fuzzy socks!! Thank you so much GB!!!

HAPPY 2010!!
