The Olympics

I am really sad... The olympics are almost over! Tonight is the very last night. Two more years until the next one. I think the US did a wonderful job though, and we won tons of medals! GO USA!!

Edit- I watched the final ceremony last night- the US had 37 medals! The most of any place/anyone in the olympics!

New Gym Bag!!!

I was at T.J. Maxx several days ago, and saw these amazing duffel bags for only $12.99!! $12.99!!! I was shocked!! I got a pale pink and navy duffel, but I could not find a picture online.
It will be so wonderful for sleep overs, vacations, carry on luggage, and the gym.
In fact, I brought it yesterday when I went skiing! It was a blast, but I will try and write about it tomorrow.

(Mine is slightly different than this one, and the pink is a lot paler.)
Thank you ALL for the lovely comments on my last post- I enjoyed reading all of them!

The Olympics and other things

Good morning everyone!!! So far my week has been really busy and slightly stressful, so I am glad it is almost over! ;) Today I just decided to do a mix up post about different things so, here it is!!

One high light of my week was that I got glasses!! I will not have to wear them all the time just when I drive, and have to read for something a long distance away. I will definitely take a picture of them when they get here! (The person said 7 to 10 business days.) I couldn't find them on the website, so I guess we will both just have to be patient! ;)

The Olympics:

Wow! So far the US has already gotten 12 medals!! They are at the lead. (medal wise)
Some of my favorite sports to watch are- Couples figure skating, Womens/Mens mogul, skiing, and snowboarding.

I was really hoping that Lindsey Jacobellis (snowboarder) would win. She had fallen down in the past olympics. Two days ago she got into the last race before the finals. She was doing really good, but then she slipped and over corrected. ;( She hit a flag and was disqualified. But I am sure she will come back in the next olympics.

I also wanted Lindsey Vonn to win. SHE DID!!! WHHOOO HOO!!

Figure Skating:
I really wanted these people to win (Amanda Evora and Mark Ladwig) But the got tenth place. I think they deserved better. I thought that they did a fantastic job!

Blog Tag!!!

I am completely shocked! I never dreamed that I would get 54 followers! Incredible! ;) Thank you all!!

Moving on, Sweet, Sassy, Southern and Classy just tagged me to tell a little bit about my self.
Here are the rules:
1. Thank the person who nominated you for this award and insert a link to their blog.
2. Say 7 things about yourself.
3. Pass on the award to 15 other bloggers who you think are great!
4. Contact the other bloggers and let them know they have been chosen for this award.
(Since I recently tagged people for a blog award, I will not be tagging anyone this time around, so feel free to just take it off of my blog, so that we can learn 7 things about you!! ;)

1. Mascara is definitely my favorite type of make up
2. Spring, and summer are my favorite seasons. (There has been waaay to much snow lately!)
3. I would love to be a cake decorator, florist, (Like my great grandma) or a wedding planner.
4. I wish Lilly Pulitzer was more affordable. Lilly P is such an inspiration
5. I am excited about college
6. As a highschooler, I am probably slightly weird to other people my age. I hate the mall, I Love Ina Garten,(I am working on buying all of her cookbooks- She is AMAZING!!) I watch the food network, and I am not really into Vampire Romances, (sorry guys!) I prefer watching an old Audrey Hepburn movie, (Or Irene Dunne) or a chick flick.
7. I LOVE watching the Olympics. It makes me want to be good at sports. Although sadly, I was never blessed in that area. Oh well! ;)

Tag, your it!

Catching up

Hello everyone! I am very sorry for not posting in over a week! (GASP!) I have been really been busy with school, and to put it bluntly, I haven't had anything to write about! ;)

Catching Up:

The Super Bowl

I went to a super bowl party that my church had for my youth group. I was very pleased that the Saints won! Whoo hooo!! (In all honesty I don't really understand football, but I play along and cheer for the team who has the best colors, mascot, and symbol. Leave it to me to do something like that. Shhhhhh! Its our little secret!)

Abby's birthday!!!

Tomorrow is my sisters birthday! YAY!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY ABBY!!! I got her an AMAZING present but I can't share until after she gets it. (It still hasn't arrived in the mail, so I am thinking she will have to wait until her party. Oh well!) I think tomorrow we well have my Gigi over and eat dinner. Abby's request was shrimp and okra gumbo- Yum!

Valentines Day (Or Single Awareness Day, which ever you prefer)

We still haven't exactly decided what we will do, but every Valentines Day my dad gets us a little something, like chocolate or jewelry. I am really excited! Yesterday at school, I made all of the people in my class, and my teachers, some chocolate covered pretzel sticks. They turned out looking lovely! They were dipped in milk chocolate, and then I took white chocolate, dyed it pink and did a zig zag pattern on the top of each pretzel. On the very top I added some clear sugar crystals, for a more valen-tiny effect. (HA!) I attached each of the peoples names to them. Everyone was thrilled! And plus they were easy to make, and really fun. Hey, I should start a business! ;) I wish I had taken pictures, but its a little to late. ;( But maybe I will be able to take pictures, I just remembered, I think me and my friends are going to have a Valentines Day party, and I was considering bringing some of those! If I do, I will try to remember to take pictures!

I hope you all have a lovely Valentines Day!

In my Shower, and Simple Things List

Whitney, over at Glam Life of a Housewife did a post about what is in her make up bag. I decided to mix it up a little bit and tell about what I use in my shower instead. So here goes!

I have experimented with several different kinds of shampoo and conditioner. There are lots out there that I like a lot, but Herbal Essences Tousle me Softly, is what I am using right now. I love it! The scent is pomegranate, and it is infused with wild violet. It leaves my hair bigger, and smelling great!

My sisters and I have tried several anti blemish body washes, but we agree that this one is the best!! Plus, it smells great!

Mango Mandarin body wash

Rubber Duck ;)

Saint Ives body scrub

Whats in your shower?

In other news, Kelly from Kelly's Korner just made a post titled Simple Pleasures. It is where you make a list of the simple things in life that make you happy. Feel free to give it a try! Here are mine.

*Light rain in the spring
*Receiving a package
*Putting together a new outfit
*Winning a giveaway (THANKS MALLORY!!)
*Getting comments/followers
*Reading Ina Garten cookbooks from front to back, and trying out a new recipe
*Reading Kate Spades Manners, Occasions, & Style books
*Singing in the car, and when you are home alone
*Getting glasses

Have a wonderful day, and remember sometimes the simplest of things, are the most meaningful.

P.S- Be sure to go by Kelly's (Andy & Kelly) blog and congratulate her- Shes pregnant!! ;)

YAY!! I have almost reached 50 followers!! I am very happy!! Maybe I will do a giveaway soon. ;)

I went over to my friends house yesterday to play in the snow. By the time we actually got out there the snow was a little to slushy for sledding.

When we got home my mom made a chicken pot pie, and some of Ina Gartens peanut butter Chocolate Chunk cookies. YUM!!! They were great! Ina, you did it again!

The snow has not melted that much, but most of the killer icicles fell down!

This is random, but I have been thinking about Ina Gartens creamy macaroni and Cheese.. I really REALLY want some.

Ok, I better end this post before we all die of starvation.

Thank you all for the lovely comments on my previous post! I enjoyed reading them.
