A whole day of walking....and walking....and walking.....

Tuesday my mom, Lauren, Abby, and I went for a 3 1/2 hour walk. My feet were killing me once we finally finished!

We walked to the center of __________ and went to Saks & Fifth, Macy's, and Brooks Brothers.

Saks and Fifth- Prada. Icky. What has happened?? The "fashionista's have gone

hill. Take a good long glare at THIS purse.... snake skin.......Hilariously FAKE jewels...OR THIS purse. (Not to offend anyone. Just a personal opinion.)

Tory Burch is pretty cute. Although EXPENSIVE!! $$$$$ kuuuhhhh-CHING, KA-CHING!!

Macy's-
Floppy sunhats!! SO fun!! THey had one that was white and real
ly large!! I was considering buying it, but I already have one.
They also had some cute jewelry, and umbrellas.

Brooks Brothers-

Adorable. Need I say more?? It is such a classic look. They had tons of seer sucker dresses/skirts/shorts.

I would sooo wear this on an African safari trip!!
White candy striped dress
Blue coral patterned dress

Adorable pineapple embroidered sear sucker skirt
UGGGG!! TOO CUTE!!
Basically the rest of the time walked in and out of old churches, AMAZING hotels, and small stores.

One church we went to had HUGE cathedral ceilings, stain glass windows and a big restroom. We were getting hungry so we had lunch in the women's 'powder room.' (It was not IN the bathroom it was just a sitting room outside of it.) It felt really weird, and I said some one should be playing on the organ and singing ghostly songs. {the atmosphere was really ghostly and there was NO ONE in the church.}(I have read waaay to many mysteries!!)

Marvelous Friday ;)

WOW!! Today just flew by! I started the day by getting up. Late. It was just great.

My mom and I cleaned our house, and then went to go pick up Lauren and Abby. They had half days of school. We went out to eat for lunch at a place called 'the moose cafe.' The food was really good and very southern. All they needed to do was hire me and my sisters to do the decorating. ;) After that we went to the farmers market. That place is so fun. I love looking at all the fruits and vegetables, and then of course the homemade items. One time we went there and I got some dried hydrangeas. I L-O-V-E them!!

We went to Rebecca & Co, as well as SNOB Consignments. Rebecca & Co. is really cute, although very $$$EXPENSIVE$$$. It is a little to bohemian for me, but there were some really cute things. SNOB is one of my all time favorites! They have deisgner stuff from $8-$100+ I got some cute navy, white polka dot shorts, (that will match with 3 of my RL shirts. They all have Navy in them.) A Nine West wallet, A green silk scarve, and some white Tory Burch looking flats. That was all under $20. Abby and Lauren got some really cute clothes as well, but I am sure they will post about them!

In an earlier post I talked about getting a typewriter, well lately I have been typing up some of my recipes, I just love the font and the 'RING' the typwriter makes. Just fantastic.

I heard from a fellow blogger that at Old Navy, tomorrow (Saturday) they are having a sale for their flip flops. It sounds great to me because they are comfy and have cute colours!! Check out Old Navy tomorrow!
Remember- Go to Old Navy!!

Cinco De Mayo

I have been out of school since Friday, and I keep thinking I need to study for a test. But the truth is- I do not have a test to study for! It is nice but it feels really weird. I have been reading Nancy Drew a lot. I finished two of the books yesterday, (and this morning) and started on a new one this afternoon.

My mom and I stayed out the whole day. We went to my sisters chapel where she recieved a trophy for an art project, to Wendys, (whoot whoot) Goodwill, and another consignment store.
The last stop before picking up sista's was at Borders. ahhh.. (breath in deeply) Borders. That place is. Well weird. Not the books or anything. (well some of them) The people. You really get a cultural shock when you come through the doors.
Lets just say my mom and I saw very many different styles, and some people who were. Not very straight. All that to say, I found a book I would like to buy. It just came out recently and is a 'Martha Stewart craft book.' There were some really neat ideas, and things I would like to try. Calligraphy projects, stamping, etching on glass, crepe paper flowers, and the list goes on!

We picked up the girls and then went to Stein Mart. I like that place. They have such a variety of interesting things. Lauren, Abby, and my mom got large faux pearl earrings.

I am counting down the hours until nine-o-clock! (My jello will be ready then)

HAPPY CINCO DE MAYO!!

Craving Spring

I had a marvelous weekend, and it all ended way to quickly! After my trip I had to start school again. Icky. Getting home from trips is always so depressing.

Anyways, today I babysat for Annie Catherine- one of the sweetest cutest two years old I think I have ever met!! I always love it when I can babysit for her! We played play-dough, watched 'Sid the Science Kid,' (has anyone seen it?? It seriously is weird. But Annie likes it sooo... anyhoo.) ate lunch, and dressed her up in a really cute outfit! I love dressing little kids up. It is so fun. So I was there from 10:00 AM until about 3:40 PM. It was long but she went down for a nap for 2 hours.

Lately I have been on a cooking craze. I LOVE COOKING! It's a blast. (its odd though, because I only really feel like cooking at night......hmmm....) Tonight I made a white cake, with whipped cream icing, and strawberries. Now that my friends is "spring" in your mouth. ;) Hopefully, when I get done with this post, we can eat it.... yuuuuummmmmm....

Annie Catherine's mom really inspired our family. She always has iced tea in her fridge. But not just 'iced tea' she has peppermint iced tea, gingerbread iced tea, etc. What she does is she makes her tea but substitutes 2 bags of regular tea for a flavored kind. (seasonal) Peppermint so far is my favorite, but Yesterday I made orange spice, and I must say it was pretty darn good!

The peppermint, is really refreshing cold. You should try it! ;) watch out though, you may just forget about the coffee! *Wink Wink*;)

I made banana nut bread yesterday as well. I didn't think I was a big fan of it, but it is pretty good! Now I want some....

I am craving spring. Just to be blunt. I hate this switch-y on and off weather. It is confusing. I was so happy early this week that we were having hot weather, but it changed and now it is humid slushy gunk. I like rain in the spring as long as it isn't humid.

In my last post, I talked about some things I found on my trip. We checked out a goodwill at the beach, and several other thrift stores as well as the Tanger outlets, and antique stores. So it was a nice variety! (which was VERY clean. I mean the floors literally sparkled, and the clothes were colour coded!!! MARVELOUS!!!;)

Here is a picture of my 1930's Nancy Drew book- (I already had two copies of this book but, it was to old and cheap to pass up. Plus this version is COMPLETELY different from the new version, so it is like reading a whole new book! Did you know that the Nancy Drew books were written by three different people over a period of time? The reason that this book is a different version is because 2 of teh people writing them decided that they didn't like the other persons version, so they re-wrote it! So there are at least three different versions of the same book, floating around somewhere in cyberspace.
Ugly yellow/green cable knit sweater-

Bird cage- Can you see the purple bird inside?

My old Valentines- I found both of the frames at goodwill, and the coloured card stock behind them are some pieces of paper I dyed.

The valentine on the left says- "Lettuce be valentines dear" and the one on the right says "No trouble A- Tall to be your Valentine" AWWWWW.....

A can of buttons- My hat-

Vinatge patterns- Hopefully I will find some frames to frame them in, (Lauren's idea!;) but until then I am keeping the with all my Nancy Drew books.Goodwill argyle sweater-

Sailor dress-

I also got a purple shirt, and some vintage bottle caps to make earrings out of.

I got my hair cut!!! I am still slightly in shock from it being so short, but I do like it.

See ya later! I am going to eat cake!;)
