FABulous Finds!

Yesterday I went to the Snob Shop. (Which is a very nice consignment store that sells name brands: Lilly Pulitzer, J. Crew, Anne Taylor, Lacoste, Ralph Lauren Etc.) I got...
-An adorable pink J. Crew skirt with embroidered bumble bees
-A cute white eyelet top ($4!!!)
-And a navy J. Crew T-shirt with lime green embroidered shell on it.

I was thrilled to find all of this stuff, and in good condition! I spent less than 30 dollars total. YAY!

While we were shopping, I saw some cowboy boots. I have decided that I now like them. I didn't used to. (They were $266. I couldn't help but gasp a little bit. Is that how much they normally are?) These were not my favorite style (They had a super pointy toe) but I would love to find some. What do you think about cowboy (Cowgirl) boots? Would you wear them? I think they became popular after Taylor Swift started wearing them with cute printed dresses. What type of outfits would you wear them with?

Cheerleading

Yesterday I toured S.B.C (Its a school) for next year. (By the way, if you were wondering, cafeteria food is absolutely, hands down disgusting.) It was pretty good, although a lot different from what I am used to. Were your transitions from school/college/work really hard?

As I was looking at the school, I was trying to think of a sport, or extra curricular activity to do, if I go there. I know they have a golf team, basketball, soccer, volleyball and cheerleading. I was considering doing volleyball & cheerleading.

I think one of the reasons I would like to try cheerleading, is because I have an awesome great aunt. (Aunt Shirley) She is completely amazing, and is such an inspiration. She is a wonderful cook, always ready to try new things, and just plain fun!! She taught me and my sisters several cheers- Here are some of them! (They are old school cheers)

"There's a team to the EAST there's a team to the WEST, but the team
on the floor, is the BEST! Go BOOKER T!"

"A can of tomatoes, a can of peas, a touch down mister, if you please!"
"Watermelon, watermelon, watermelon rind, check out the score board and see who's behind-
you, you, you , you, YOU!"

HA HA! I just love it!
Did you play sports? If so, which ones? Would you be a cheerleader? (I realize that a lot of times, they are characterized as snobs.)

Honky Tonks!

Last night my family and I went to a newly opened restaurant called Honky Tonks BBQ. The neat thing about Honky Tonks is that it is not a specific style of barbeque, it is their own style! The sauce that goes on it is delicious and so were their sides! We got three cheese macaroni & cheese, fries, BBQ sandwiches and Jalapeno beans. (Sounds healthy, right?) Well let me tell you, it was great! I think it was probably some of the best BBQ I have ever tried! It is not a sit down restaurant, you just go in and pick up your order. The colors were green and black, which made it really cute! If you have a Honky Tonks in your city/state be sure to stop by! I am sure you will love it!

In other news, I got two new guitar picks yesterday! Can you guess which colors I got? Why pink & green of course! I also want a navy one, but I can wait. I also need to get a guitar strap, the problem was that I don't like any of the ones I have seen. Most of them had flames, sculls and cross bones or hawaiian flowers. I wasn't exactly jumping up and down with joy. I looked on Etsy and Ebay. I found one on Etsy that is homemade and pretty cute. I love the pattern. Guitar Strap - Navy Squares
If you know of anyone, or anyplace who makes them, please leave me a comment and let me know! Wouldn't a monogrammed one be cute?

Letters to Juliet

I am so excited about this movie coming out- I really want to see it!

It all makes it twice as cute since Taylor Swift sings in it!
When I actually figure out how to play the guitar, I really want to
learn to play "Love Story" and "You
Belong With Me."

Blogger of the month

I know it is not exactly the first of the month, but I thought it would be tons of fun to have a "Blogger of the Month" award type thing. At each first of the month I will choose a blogger and do a short post about their blog. I think it will be a really good way to find other inspiring, fun, preppy blogs.

So, this years blogger of the month is.........

First of all, Trish, is such a sweet blogger, and she just so happens to have my middle name! ;) I can always count on getting a nice, encouraging comment from her. They all make my day! Here is her "About me"

"I'm a thirty-year-old, happy-go-lucky Southern belle, living up North with my wonderful husband, and enjoying all that life has to offer; most especially all things preppy and pink! I love all things Lilly Pulitzer, am a total girly girl, adore the great city of New Orleans, and would do absolutely anything for my family and friends."

She updates frequently (which is very nice! Unlike me. oopsies!) and all her posts have something interesting, or lots of pictures! (A must have!) So be sure to stop by her blog!

P.S Thank you all for the sweet comments on yesterdays post! I loved hearing your thoughts!

Prom

I am not going to prom this year, but since it is coming closer, I thought it would be a fun idea to show you what I would want to wear to prom. I found this incredible dress at J. Crew. The funny thing is that before I had seen this dress, I had designed one that I wanted. (It looked almost exactly like this one!) And then I found this;
I wanted a floor length dress. Check. Either cream or white. Check. I wanted it to also have a simple Grecian look to it. Check. Now the dress I had envisioned was not a wedding dress, but this one is. I LOVE this dress, but I think I would want a fancier dress for my wedding. I think this one could easily pass for prom.

I would love to have my hair done something like this;
Or in an elegant bun with a simple small flower
(This is the only one I could find, the flower would need to be whiter and smaller, so that it would not take away from the ruffle/flowers on the dress.)

Either gold filigree earrings, or small pearls.
If the shoes were a little whiter (the rose) or the dress was a little creamier colored, I would say possibly these shoes. I think heels would probably be over the top. Simple flats would be good to. If these shoes were worn, I would not do the flower in the hair. That would be over doing it. (Wait, did I just say more flowers would be over doing it?!? Well they would, but I didn't think I would ever say that! ;)

I would also add a small clutch. I think that that would be plenty, so as it would not drown out the simplicity of the dress.

Feel free to leave me a comment telling about your prom experiences, and what you wore! It would also be fun to see some pictures!

Easter Weekend

Easter weekend was amazing! I LOVE EASTER! On Thursday we went to the Maundy Thursday service. It was very meaningful, but also very sad.

Sunday morning I woke up to a nice little Easter basket with reeses cups, snickers, twix, and milky ways, as well as some INCREDIBLE shea butter lotion. I also got a new tooth brush head for my electric toothbrush. Dont ask me why I am excited, I just am! I just love getting a new toothbrush because your teeth feel so clean afterwards!! ;)

Sunday we went to our church service and after that we went to my Grandmas house to eat lunch with our cousins. Lunch was wonderful! We had scalloped potatos, pork tenderloin with roasted herbs, asparagus, green beans, blackberries, pineapple, strawberrys, grapes and for dessert we had a pecan pie, banana cream pudding, and coconut cake! Yum yum!

My cousins and I had an Easter egg hunt, because you are NEVER to old to hunt for candy, and then we went canoeing in her pond. ;) Easter Sunday is also the day I got my first guitar. My cousin, Jonathan, plays guitar and his family had an extra (NEW) guitar that they did not use, so they sold it to me! I have always wanted to take guitar lessons, so this is wonderful! Jonathan taught me a little about the guitar and taught me several chords. I am now searching for a guitar teacher.

I am sad Easter is now over, my sister and I think it is now our favorite hholiday. Christmas is wonderful to, but I think it tends to be a little bit overly stressful.

Easter

Tonight we are going to the Maundy Thursday service at our church. It ought to be really good. As well as sad and moving. Usually we do not do a ton of things for Easter. We go to church, have an easter egg hunt, and read the Easter story. This year we will actually be able to go to my grandmas and have a lunch with her and our extended family. That will be nice. ;0

Last Friday we got the chance to go to my Grandmas house for a nice relaxing visit. We went canoeing, took pictures in a gorgeous field, ate like kings and queens, and watched the Food Network. (LOVE Food Network!) I really enjoyed being at Gran-Grans house. It was almost like a vacation and I was sad to leave. :( (Oh my word- I just did a non winking frowny/smiley face- that never happens! ;)

Today Lauren and I went to help a mom from our church clean her house. We had a really good time, and I think we did a lot!

HAPPY EASTER!

P.S- I am LOVING having my permit! Thank you for the sweet comments on my last post! ;)
