RAIN

I love the sound of rain on a roof. Don't you?
Its really magical. I used to hate thunderstorms but now, I love watching them. Even though it can be slightly scary at times.

for some odd reason I always connect- Spanish moss and rain. Why is that?

Rain and Spanish moss to me seem to spell freshness.. Hmm.... Maybe that is why.

PEACH ice cream

What is better than peach ice cream???? HOMEMADE peach ice cream. It was my parent anniversary, so while they were away, they picked up a HUGE basket of peaches. The peaches didn't look the best on the outside, but you could easily cut off the bad parts. The peaches still tasted delish, and a whole box of a peaches was a steal because they were starting to go bad.

The ice cream turned out tasting wonderful. (Even though our ice cream maker broke, a little more than half way through. Thank heavens for freezers!)

It has been a (family) tradition on road trips, to stop by a road fruit stand and get a cone of homemade peach ice cream. Does your family have/had any food traditions like that?

Inside of the directions for our ice cream maker I found a recipe for homemade banana ice cream. It just sounded to good to be true, so I thought I would post it-

2 Quarts of Banana Ice Cream

Ingredients

3 medium sized ripe bananas
2 cups of milk
1 cup of sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups heavy whipping cream

Directions
Scald 1 cup milk until luke warm: add sugar and salt. stir until dissolved. Add remaining milk. pour into ice cream can. add nutmeg & vanilla extract. Fold in lightly whipped cream. Chill in fridge for 30 minutes. Crush Bananas with a fork to fine pulp, stir in lemon juice. add to chilled mixture before churning. Churn according to directions. (It should say how long on you ice cream maker.)

I will definitely have to try it out some time!

Fall trends 2009

Oh someone tell me this is not going to be the fall trends for 2009! AHHHH! We are just going back to the 80's and 90's aren't we?!?

I think the only thing she mentioned that I liked were corduroys, (Pants) & ruffled shirts. Not her style of ruffled shirts.. *GAG!

This is not in the least what I had pictured for fall.
I was thinking more like.....

-Trench coats
-Feather headbands
-ruffle solid colored shirts
-cords
-The classics

You get the idea! It is so crazy how things come back into style. I mean neon colors?

SCHOOL!!

I cannot believe school (For me at least) will be starting on WEDNESDAY!!! Now that is just scary! It seems to me like summer just started. ;( Today I am going school supplies shopping, and to look for some more clothes.

Lately I have been completely out of the blogging groove. I still read your blogs but posting, might be put on hold for a while. (Especially during school)

A new edition to the family.

We now have an Imac computer! (Apple) YIPPIE!! I am having such a blast messing around with it. It is suprisingly easy to understand, and the screen is clean and clear. there is not a jumble of icons laying around all over the place, so it is much more refreshing! I love it! Lately I have been taking photo booth pictures. I love all of the settings!

Sorry you haven't heard from me in a while. :(
i will try and catch up!

Tomalo

This is a wonderful song. (And i just love the beat, and how in all different countries, praising God is the same.) It is now one of my favorite songs. Scroll down- I posted the lyrics in English. (for your and my benefit! ;)

I.) Searching the world,The lost will be found. in freedom we live, As one we cry out. You carried the cross,You died and rose again, My God, I'll only ever give my all.....

II.) You sent your Son,From heaven to earth,Delivered us all,It's Eternally heard,I Searched for Truth and All I found is you My God,I'll only ever give my all.

Chorus:Jesus, we're living for Your name,We'll never be ashamed of youWoah oh ohOur praiseAnd all we are todayTake, take, take, it all.Take, take, take, it all.(Repeat II.)(Chorus 2x)Running to the one who heals the blind.Following the shining lightIn Your hands the power to save the world In my life.(2x)(Repeat Chorus 2x)

Jesus, we're living for Your name. We'll never be ashamed of You (Woah oh oh)Take, take, take, it all.Take, take, take, it all.Jesus, we're living for Your name. We'll never be ashamed of You (Woah oh oh)

Take, take, take, it all.Take, take, take, it all.Take, take, take, it all.

What do you think....

.........about face book? What have you experienced in this Internet world of socialization? (I think I just made the top 10 for worlds cheesiest sentences! ;)

Do you feel pressured to have tons of friends? Are most of your friends only acquittance's, or TRUE friends? Do you feel 'stuck' with it now that you got it?

I have absolutely no idea what to think about it.

Let me know!

Thursday & Friday Night

On Thursday night, one of my close friends, Mariah came over for a sleep-over. I had not seen her in over a month. (except briefly at church and coming home from Costa Rica on the 19th)

On Friday we had a single friend over for dinner, and to play some games. (Scattergories to be exact! We had been wanting that game for a while and then I found it at a discount store. It was only $10 and the box was only damaged a little, but hey- its the inside that counts! ;)

We went downtown and walked around, (peeking into shop windows the whole way!) and then we stopped and listened to a jazz band playing on the side walk. The weather was great outside and it was relaxing to just stop and listening to some fun, lighthearted music. We talked the whole way back to our car and were never once at a loss for words. ;)

Tonight, for dinner, another single friend of ours, Dee Dee, is coming over. She is AMAZING & very sweet. Last Saturday we went kayaking with my dad, and she brought us over a marvelous breakfast- her famous cinnamon rolls, & a sasuage & egg quiche. (So that we could leave early and not have to worry about stopping for breakfast.) We just put them in the oven and breakfast was ready with in 30 minutes! THANKS DEE DEE!

As you can see, we ahve been very busy, and thats a good thing!
